Sure it's the big 18 where I can actually buy alcohol legally, and it does have it's positives, but I'm not the party kind. I mean, my parents have to gone to huge efforts to make this party happen, having hot food, buying me a dress, me getting my hair done, but the person that people see all dressed up at that party, won't be me.
I hate dressing up like a princess, long dress (Rather wear my jeans), hair up (I always have my hair down, having it up is just eurgh) make-up, (Barely wear it, other than mascara). It makes me sad. ;__;
It's not even like I have a choice either, my mother has picked it all, even down to the music. Not going to lie, I'm a rock fan at heart and music like 'Black Eyed Peas' just depresses me. (I like their old stuff, but their new stuff. Just no).
Onto more depressive issues
So, in college we're having a meeting over orgasnising charity events, and the main teacher is basically going to be all like 'We want everyone to participate to help raise as much money as we possibly can) In other words, she wants to have her 5 minutes of fame in the local newpapers.
This ANGERS me. All they care about is media attention, sure charities like Red Nose Day helpp a good cause, but they're so empathised on, everyone else forgets the smaller charities that get next to no recognition. Last year I kept reminding her about a few of them last year and then made out as if she'd thought of the idea herself, however she never kept her promise and nothing did ever happen, she'd promised homeless people that she'd help, but no, Children in Need came first, she had people go out of lessons to go on a sponsored walk (Which I may argue is not actually sponsored) people on the street might throw 5p in a bucket if you're lucky. It's a pathetic way of making money, and barely helps anyone, and at the end of it she's like 'We helped raise £1000'. Not trying to be mean, but Children in Need makes Millions and you can guarantee not all of that money goes to charity.
Her motivation is just based upon the media. That is just it.
And now for Prom
Where do I begin with this one, so it's the same teacher as I was ranting about a moment ago... She basically wanted some good ideas for prom and wanted out feedback, and a couple of weeks later... BANG... She'd already thought of a theme! 'Hollywood vs Bollywood'
A) She didn't discuss this with the forum.
B) She chose this theme because she said that they link well with the film industry. (I happen to be a film student, and I happen to know this is a lie and she knows nothing)
C) She's also trying so hard to not offend one ethnicity, that she's actually offending the other.
She's one of these people that are really happy all of the time, and you can see right through them and realise that they're not what they're making out to be. It's annoying.
Here is one thing she said 'We're going to make it like the oscars, we'll have prizes for best bollywood dressed, and for overall dressed' SHE'S SKIPPING OUT HOLLYWOOD TO NOT BE RACIST. BUT IT ACTUALLY MAKES HER RACIST.
She also tried to force me to dress up in Bollywood, and I will simply not stand for that type of attitude, she has no control over me, she thinks that Hollywood and Bollywood are all sparkly and she wants us in lots of sparkles and glitter. The word 'tacky' comes to mind when I mimagine people in diamonds, I'm sure people from both of these cultures actually have sophistication to them.
She doesn't understand culture!!!!!
I'm leaving this here before I blow up.
So good day and have fun!!!
Till next time <3 p="">
